Octreotide (SMS 201-995), a synthetic somatostatin analog, licensed as a medicine in the US and EU. The immediate-release form is given subcutaneously about three times a day at 50–500 mcg; a separate long-acting depot is injected intramuscularly once a month and its figures do not carry over to this curve. The nearest standing frequency in the model is twice daily, so the three-times-daily schedule is stated in the table. Kvols (NEJM 1986) reported subcutaneous dosing in carcinoid syndrome research.
